If you wish to add an extra layer of functionality to your Windows OS and make the most of your computer’s performance, WinTools.net Professional may well be the tool you are looking for. Actually, it is much more than “a tool” – it is an extensive suite of tools with utilities to clean up your PC, uninstall programs, fix your Windows registry, and tweak your computer to optimize its performance.

The program’s interface is clean and spacious, with a central panel where all the information about the task in process is displayed surrounded by two menus – the main menu on the left-hand side of the screen, and a secondary menu on the right side of the screen, plus different tabs within each section for various functions. The wide choice of tools provided and their different (yet complementary) functionality do not help when trying to design a GUI that should be both easy to navigate and simple to use for the novice user. As a result, it may take you a bit longer than expected to locate features that may or may not be included in any of the seven main categories – Uninstaller, Scan Files, Scan Reg, Start Up, Tweak UI, Net Tweak, and Your Privacy.

Each of these sections comes with a variable number of features and functions related to the category they’ve been assigned to, while the main interface and the Tweak UI menu seem to include some functions that do not clearly fit any of the other six sections. Thus, in the initial window that opens when you launch the program you’ll find not only extensive technical information about your PC or laptop, but also buttons to open the Config window, defrag your disks, clean them from junk files, and even a direct link to your firewall.

The six main options on the left include the bulk of the functionality that makes this tool worth trying. The Uninstall menu will remove any installed software, even the stubborn ones, and will remove all leftovers. It even offers you a direct link to the registry in case you want to check any broken entries yourself. (This registry editor is also available in the Registry Scan section.) The Scan Files and Scan Reg options perform a very similar task – scan for items that your PC does not need any more and might well be removed to help you recover disk space. You can get rid of all of them from here or use the program’s shredder to get rid of specific files for good.

The Start Up section is in fact a startup manager where you can also see your running services and processes. The Tweak UI option is one of the most eclectics, with buttons to Windows 10 tweaks, your global, desktop, and PC system settings, etc. By the way, you’ll find an extra tab here that will take you to some interesting OneDrive Tweaks. The Net Tweak is one of the most useful ones, as it provides you with highly useful information about your networks, including their passwords. It comes with a Network Fixer and a Network Tweaker to make the most of your connections. Finally, Your Privacy includes not only settings to protect your privacy against your OS and your browsers, but also Invisible Man (to hide your most important data), File Shredder to destroy any file or folder for good, and a small feature to deal with your Internet Favorites.

Leaving its interface navigability aside, WinTools.net Professional is certainly a highly useful set of tools that will add functionality to your operating system and will enhance existing OS features that have been neither updated nor improved since the 90s. There is a Classic version of the program for a lower license fee and a shorter list of tools, and a Premium option that adds to the functionality of this Professional version a feature that deals with duplicate files. Each version comes with its own trial, so feel free to try them all and stick to the one that better fits your needs.
